Remember what we talked about on the last meeting:

Trip dates: March 29- April 9th, 2002. Flight times for now... leaving early March 29th returning around 11 pm to Palm Springs on the 9th. Times and flight plans can change, Ill keep you informed.  Round trip Palm Springs-Mexico City with a layover each way in L.A.

Trip cost: $800. May vary if flight prices change (right now $457).

Immunizations: Hepatitis A and B, Tetanis Diptheria Travel Medicine in Palm Desert can do them (340-6990); the cost is about $45 per person per shot (over 18 the cost is about $65). Check with your doctor, your insurance might cover these, and you may already have had some of these shots. 

Passports: You need to apply if you dont have one. Please pick up an application for one at the Palm Springs library, Indio (courthouse?), or online at Passport services. YOU MUST APPLY BEFORE CHRISTMAS!  Passports can take several weeks to receive once applied for. You must turn in you passport to the church by the end of February, as well as notarized affidavits (permission from parents). I will give those to you in December. 

Fund raising: Write letters to friends and family as well as participate in church fundraising. Enclosed is a sample letter that you may use if you want to. You can make your own also. 

Make it simple, neat, presentable, etc. The most important is that you ask for prayer! 

Church fundraising dates to keep in mind

December 2: bake sale (make your own, buy your own, or ask mom and dad to help you

make something). We will sell them at church between and after morning services.

December 8: Car wash 8 am! At the church parking lot.

Applications: Last deadline was Sunday, November 25th, 2001. You MUST talk to me this week if you have not filled it out and still want to go.

This experience will change your life forever. As I said before, the experience starts now, from the moment you say " God, here am I ... send me!"  Please take this seriously and begin to pray daily that God would prepare your heart as well as the hearts of those in Mexico that we will be ministering to.
